About Mrs. CarpenterMy name is Becky Carpenter and this is my 11th year teaching at Creekside Elementary School. Teaching is my passion and I can't imagine having any other career. I grew up in Milford, MI and graduated in 2000 from Milford High School. After high school I attended Michigan State University where I received my B.S. in Child Development and Elementary Education. I was fortunate enough to attain a job right out of college where I began teaching 2nd grade at Creekside. During my first four years of teaching I continued my education and completed my Masters in Reading and Literacy Instruction. Since the completion of my Masters I have continued taking graduate courses in a variety of areas.
On a more personal note, I married my husband Ben in January 2009. We met on a missions trip to Ecuador with our church. It was a life changing event in my life and I hope to return there at some point. We are blessed with two sons, Ethan and Joshua. Ethan is 4 and is in Junior Kindergarten and Joshua is 1. We are kept very busy chasing after them! We love to camp! Every summer we camp throughout Michigan. While I love to sit next to the fire, Ethan loves to dig in the dirt and get as dirty as possible. Joshua loves the dirt as well; unfortunately, his interest in the dirt is eating it right now! My husband and I dream of retiring some day, buying a large lot of land on a lake and building a campground.
